Every move counts! Latest exercise recommendations from hepa.ch

Our cooperation partner hepa.ch is launching an action week between September 4th and 10th, 2023 with the focus: Every movement counts!

In a groundbreaking initiative to promote health and well-being, our cooperation partner hepa.ch (society for health promotion and exercise recommendations) published their latest exercise recommendations last April. These guidelines offer a groundbreaking approach for people of all ages to become more active and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

HEPA is dedicated to emphasizing the importance of exercise for physical and mental health. The new recommendations were developed after extensive research and consultation with experts in the field of health promotion. Aimed at people of all ages and fitness levels, they are intended to provide guidance to encourage a more active lifestyle.

The key principles of the new HEPA movement recommendations are diverse and adaptable. They emphasize that exercise not only brings physical benefits, but also promotes mental well-being and social interaction. The recommendations take into account the different stages of life and abilities of people and offer tailor-made approaches for children, young people, adults and seniors.

The main features of the recommendations include:

  1. Versatility: The recommendations suggest a variety of activities, including aerobics, strength training, flexibility exercises, and relaxation techniques. This promotes holistic fitness and avoids one-sided stress.
  2. Suitability for everyday use: The HEPA encourages the integration of exercise into everyday life. This includes activities such as climbing stairs, cycling to work, or taking short walks during your lunch break.
  3. Tailored approaches: The recommendations take into account individual factors such as health status, fitness level and personal preferences. This allows people to develop a plan that fits their specific needs.
  4. Social component: The recommendations emphasize the benefits of social activities such as group sports or group hikes. These not only promote physical health, but also strengthen social bonds.
  5. Sustainability: The HEPA emphasizes that exercise should be a long-term lifestyle. The recommendations encourage regular, sustained activity rather than short-term intense exercise.

The publication of these movement recommendations marks a milestone in the promotion of health worldwide. Experts praise the holistic nature and adaptability of these guidelines, emphasizing their importance for the long-term health and well-being of the population.

To support the promotion of physical activity, HEPA has also created an interactive website where detailed information on recommendations, as well as practical advice and resources are available.
