Industry conference to present the key data of the Swiss fitness industry in 2023

swiss active presents the first comprehensive study on the Swiss fitness industry in year 1 after the corona pandemic

Closures of fitness centers, cautious customers, restrictions on training – the corona pandemic had hit the Swiss health and fitness industry hard. Where did the industry stand in year 1 after the pandemic? And what trends are emerging for the future? The industry association swiss active presents its comprehensive study on the key data of the Swiss fitness industry for the second time; the analysis thus includes comparative values over four years for the first time.

swiss active has once again collected the current key data of the Swiss fitness industry together with the German University for Prevention and Health Management (DHfPG). The result is a representative quantitative study that creates market transparency. Important key figures are presented, comparisons are made and developments are shown. The study answers these questions and more:

  • How has the number of providers developed since the end of 2019? How are they doing economically?
  • What about membership numbers? Will there be more training in the centers again?
  • How have the membership fees developed?
  • Has the fitness industry created new jobs?
  • What does the future of the industry look like?

«Nach einer schwierigen Zeit schaut die Fitnessbranche zuversichtlich in die Zukunft», freut sich Reto Conrad, Präsident von swiss active. «Es wird wieder mehr trainiert, und immer mehr erkennen die Bedeutung der Gesundheitsprävention. Davon profitiert die gesamte Branche.»
