This article describes new ways to prevent the risk of falls for senior citizens. In Switzerland, over 1600 senior citizens die every year as a result of a fall. A new service from the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU) aims to reduce the risk of falling. According to a study by the BFU, every second person over the age of 60 regularly exercises to prevent falls. However, one in three people have not exercised in the last three years. The program includes an online questionnaire and exercises that can be used to determine your personal training level. This allows the appropriate strength, balance and mental exercises to be put together in a training plan.
