Stronger together: swiss active advocates for EU funding for physical activity
swiss active has joined 116 European organisations in signing a statement urging the EU to give sport and physical activity greater priority in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028–2034 and the Erasmus+ programme.
Sport and physical activity are not luxuries – they are essential for health, education, social inclusion and economic development. The sector contributes around €627.5 billion to EU GDP annually and creates over 6 million jobs, while physical inactivity costs more than €80 billion per year.

At the same time, exercise stabilises the nervous system, supports mental health and helps establish new routines.
Our key demands:
Investing in sport and physical activity means investing in Europe’s future. swiss active will continue to actively advocate for these goals.
