A demonstration with the slogan “Sport is a human right” is planned for next Saturday in Bern by unknown fitness operators. The aim of the demo is to call for the opening of all sports facilities incl. the fitness centers. The city of Bern has not approved the event and the organizers wish to remain anonymous.
No matter how tough the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the FOPH’s newly tightened measures may be for fitness operators in Switzerland, IG Fitness Schweiz expressly distances itself from the idea and implementation of this planned unauthorized demonstration in Bern and does not see it as an appropriate action in the current situation.
