Reto Conrad is the new president of the fitness association swiss active

Review general meeting

Reto Conrad has been elected as president of swiss active!

At the extraordinary general meeting held in Zurich at the end of November, Reto Conrad was elected president of swiss active. Roger Conrad was most recently Head of IT, Production and Services and before that Chief Financial Officer of the retailer Coop. Reto Conrad is the new president of the fitness association swiss active. At their meeting today in Zurich, the members of the industry association elected the former CFO of Coop and Emmi as their president. Most recently, Conrad had headed the IT, Production and Services directorate at retailer Coop for six years.

«The fitness industry plays an important role in promoting health in our country,» says Reto Conrad, the new president of swiss active. «Training and exercise strengthen the immune system and invigorate the body. The Corona period in particular has shown how significant prevention is and what an important function fitness centers and fitness providers have in this area. As president of swiss active, I want to strengthen the fitness industry’s contribution to the health of the Swiss population and make it more visible.» Reto Conrad succeeds Roger Erni, the current managing director, and will assume all responsibilities and represent the association as president of swiss active.

At the beginning of September, a study by swiss active showed that the fitness and health industry is going through a difficult time after Corona. All key figures, such as membership numbers, check-ins or center development, had declined in the past two years. At least there was a slight recovery in membership numbers in the first quarter of 2022. The proportion of the Swiss population who are members of a fitness industry provider rose from 11.9% to 12.1% from the end of 2021 to March 2022.

Review 2nd partner meeting 2022

Another successful swiss active network event!

Following the general meeting, the 2nd partner meeting this year took place at the swiss active office. As at the last partner meeting last May at the OYM in Zug, around 30 people, including representatives from Soledor AG, RKS GmbH, Wena Sport Nutrition GmbH, Verre Consulting GmbH, SAFS AG, Migros, Fimex Distribution AG and Fitpass AG from the swiss active network were present at this event on site in Zurich. The exchange took place during a cozy apero and the representatives had the opportunity to meet Reto Conrad personally.
