Last Wednesday, September 8, 2021, as part of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Council announced that the Covid certificate would be introduced in the fitness industry from September 13, 2021. According to the explanations of the BAG on the ordinance of September 8, 2021 (Art. 20), the following provisions apply:

• There are no longer any restrictions in outdoor areas for people who engage in sporting or cultural activities.
• Facilities in which the outside area is not exclusively open to visitors must restrict access for persons aged 16 and over to persons with a certificate.
• The operators are responsible for checking the validity of the certificates. The design and consistent implementation (including training and instruction of the staff) is the responsibility of the operator.
• If an employee cannot show a Covid certificate, this person is required to wear a mask if they have contact with guests in the fitness center.
